About This Office:
The Massachusetts Administrative Office of the Trial Court is responsible for maintaining information regarding the State’s courts, as well as judicial profiles, recent court opinions, press releases, juror information, law libraries, and annual reports and statements.

Individuals interested in obtaining Massachusetts court records can access the appropriate county court. For information prior to 1860, individuals can search the Judicial Archives of the State Archives of Boston. Individuals may also contact the Judicial Archives for help with finding court records.
Access To Massachusetts Court Records:
<p>Massachusetts’ unified trial court system organized seven departments under the supreme and appellate courts, and the Massachusetts State Court Administrator maintains state court records. The superior courts have general jurisdiction over all civil and criminal cases but generally handle those cases beyond the jurisdiction of the other trial courts. By law, clerk magistrates and assistant clerks must facilitate the public’s access to court records. For both civil and criminal records, this includes an alphabetical index, dockets and case files.</p>
