Access to Nebraska Criminal Records
- Records Available:
- CID is responsible for satisfying all Nebraska criminal records requests. The general public may request criminal records in the form of Record or Arrest and Prosecution (RAP) sheets on third parties, which detail arrests and corresponding dispositions, including convictions, null pros and acquittals. Law enforcement and authorized agencies may access an individual’s complete criminal history.

The Nebraska State Patrol’s Criminal Identification Division (CID) maintains criminal history records and fingerprints for the state. Any member of the public may request a copy of a Record of Arrest and Prosecution (RAP) sheet for an individual by mailing a request on the CID’s request form to the Nebraska State Patrol CID. Individuals requesting their own records may need to submit a notarized request form. Requests may also be hand-delivered to the CID office in Lincoln. Click here to run on-site court house search |
A fee of $15 is assessed for each criminal history check. The fee is payable by cash, personal check, cashier’s check, or money order. |
The Nebraska State Patrol’s Criminal Identification Division is responsible for maintaining a current archive of records of persons who are arrested and fingerprinted in Nebraska. For questions about historical criminal records, contact the CID. |
