About This Office:
The Criminal Justice Information Section is overseen by the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and includes the criminal records unit. DCI also maintains the Computerized Criminal History (CCH) system, concealed firearm permits and the sex offender registry.
Criminal Records At This Office:
Individuals must be fingerprinted at their local law enforcement agency or at DCI in order to request criminal records. DCI charges a $5 fee for fingerprinting and $15 for the criminal records search. Individuals complying with an employer’s request for a criminal records request must sign the waiver portion of the request form and have it notarized.
Access To Wyoming Criminal Records:
Wyoming criminal records are considered public information in that individuals may request personal criminal records and distribute those records to anyone. Wyoming criminal records consist of arrests and convictions for felonies and misdemeanors. However, since Wyoming is part of WIN (Western Identification Network), criminal records are checked in Idaho, Alaska, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Montana and Washington.

The Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC) was created in 1991 and oversees four correctional institutions for the state, including an conservation camp and honor farm. WDOC offers inmates substance abuse treatment, counseling, job training, education and reentry programs to help offenders adjust to life after being released.

Wyoming inmate lookup is done through VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday), as well as through victims services under WDOC. VINE allows the public to call or go online to view an offender’s location and status. Victims may register with VINE to be notified of any status changes like release, death, escape or transfers. Wyoming inmate lookup is available in a limited format and provides access to an offender’s custody status and location of incarceration. This information is available to the public, but is mainly geared toward victims and witnesses of crimes in Wyoming.
