The Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) offers public access to incarceration records through its online service, the Offender Tracking Information System (OTIS). OTIS includes information about offenders in the MDOC’s custody who have been arrested, convicted, and sentenced. Anyone may search for incarceration records by the offender’s name, MDOC number, sex, race, age, offender status, or physical identifiers. Database users may also search by the inmate’s offender status. Active offenders, parolees, probationers, absconders, and discharged offenders are included in OTIS.

Incarceration records are available on OTIS while the offender is incarcerated and for three years after he or she is discharged from the MDOC system.
