Maryland Background Check Special Notes

Maryland background checks are fingerprint based, meaning they are accurate, but not readily available to the public. A Maryland background check can only be requested by authorized employers, criminal justice agencies and individuals wishing to review personal criminal records. Background checks in Maryland are required for employment, especially for individuals wanting to work with children or the elderly. Also, agencies may register with the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services when they will need to request multiple background checks, such as a nursing home with higher employee turnover rates.
