The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment maintains Colorado public records such as birth, adoption, death, marriage, and divorce records. Statewide registration of deaths began in 1900 and births in 1910, although many record are available back to 1875 at the Colorado Historical Society Library. Certified copies of birth and death records are limited to family members, and can be obtained in-person or by mail, or online through VitalChek. The Colorado Judicial Branch maintains court records, including marriage records from the county court clerk and divorce records from the district court clerk, with historical records at the Colorado State Archive.

Colorado's Arapahoe County maintains records through their OnCore Web Public Search. Some of the records that can be searched using this search engine include liens, deeds, judgments, marriage licenses, deed of trusts and tax liens. Individuals may request non-certified copies, certified copies and no fees are charged for unofficial images dating from 1999 to the present.

Denver  County

Colorado's Denver County Clerk and Recorder maintains records for deeds, liens, releases, marriage certificates, judgments, court orders, assignments and military discharges. This office can perform searches for all Denver County records, with the exception of real estate records, which are maintained by the Assessor's Office.

El Paso  County

Colorado's El Paso County Clerk and Recorder maintains marriage records, military records, liens, and deeds. The County Clerk and Recorder does not maintain birth and death records; rather, individuals can find information regarding these records through the Health Department's Vital Statistics page. The Union Town Center and Powers branch office handles certified copies of all public records.
