About This Office:
The California Administrative Office of the Courts maintains information regarding judicial council and court administration, jury information, a press center and requests for proposals. Individuals may also find reference materials, including fact sheets, research and statistics and annual reports and strategic plans.
Court Records At This Office:
Individuals can search California court records and search for files using a word or phrase. Individuals are encouraged to enter distinctive words, and the court search is not case sensitive. Advances searches can also be used using either all of the words, the exact phrase, with some of the words or excluding certain words.
Access To California Court Records:
The Administrative Office of the Courts maintains four levels of courts: the municipal courts for local issues, 58 superior courts for civil and criminal cases, six district courts of appeals, and the state Supreme Court. The California Appellate Courts Case Information System provides case information for the California Supreme Court and the district court of appeals cases. Also available online at the California Courts website are Supreme Court/courts of appeals opinions, filings, case summaries, briefs, and minutes.
