Where To Access Criminal Records In Florida

Florida Department of Law Enforcement

About This Office:

The FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) maintains five programs, including Criminal Justice Information, Criminal Investigations and Forensic Science and the Florida Capitol Police. The Division of Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) maintains the state’s database of criminal records.

Criminal Records At This Office:

Florida criminal records requests cost $24 per name. If no criminal records are located for a name, the $24 search fee is still applied. Searching online using the Computerized Criminal History system lets you view all possible matches and choose how many criminal records you want to access. You can, however, mail in a form and the fee if you don’t have online access.

Access To Florida Criminal Records:

Name-based searches of Florida criminal records are open to the public and conveniently available through an online system. The CJIS database contains all major, fingerprint related arrests made in Florida. If the fingerprint card had an error, was lost or not turned in by law enforcement, the record won’t appear in the database. Qualified employers and law enforcement agencies may request a fingerprint based criminal records search.
