Where To Access Criminal Records In Idaho
About This Office:
The Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) is a division of the Idaho State Police and supports Idaho’s central database of criminal records. Criminal records consist of fingerprint arrest records reported by law enforcement agencies across the state.
Criminal Records At This Office:
You can request a name-based search by filling out the appropriate form and mailing it with a fee of $10 per name. If not requesting your own records, you may get a waiver signed, and all criminal records will be released. You may also conduct a fingerprint search for $10 per name plus a fingerprinting fee determined by your local law enforcement agency.
Access To Idaho Criminal Records:
All Idaho criminal records must be supported by fingerprints, otherwise they are erased from the system. Complete criminal records are only released to criminal justice agencies, authorized employers and citizens who request personal criminal records. The public may request criminal records that include all convictions. Any arrest older than 12 months that is open or pending is considered protected.

About This Office:
Fifteen facilities are overseen by the Iowa Department of Correction (IDOC), including men’s and women’s prisons, community work centers, a work camp, and 22 parole/probation offices throughout the state. IDOC is comprised of four divisions: Community Corrections, Education and Treatment, Prisons, and Management Services for the benefit of the public and inmates.

Idaho inmate lookup can be performed online through IDOC or by writing to the Records Bureau if more comprehensive information is needed. The offender database online is available 24 hours a day and will return records on all offenders listed in this system. The public may search using the offender number or by name of the offender to return records.
Access To Idaho Inmate Records:
Inmate records available through IDOC are maintained by the Records Bureau. These include location of facility where offender is serving time, status of inmate and a list of offenses. Records include those serving time and those on parole or on probation. Records for inmates having completed their sentence won’t display convictions.

The request form can be downloaded online and then mailed into the appropriate agency, along with a fee for the search. Searches can be conducted by name or fingerprints, and the more information that can be provided about the individual, the more accurate the search results will be.
