Criminal History Records
Only limited Indiana criminal records are available to the public, which include class A misdemeanor and felony arrests. Complete criminal records are available to authorized employment agencies or businesses, law enforcement and to individuals wishing to review their personal criminal records.
Indiana Court Record Availability
The State of Indiana has contracted with L-1 Enrollment Services to provide electronic applicant fingerprint processing services. Visit www.in.gov/isp and click on "Inkless."
Access to Indiana Court Records
The Indiana State Police Bureau of Identification offers its Limited Criminal History Search to give members of the public access to online criminal records. In accordance with state law, the database includes only records of felonies and Class A misdemeanors in Indiana. Record requests may also be submitted by mail on a Criminal History Information form, available from the Indiana State Police. Forms must be mailed or hand-delivered to the Indiana State Police in Indianapolis.
The fee for an online Limited Criminal History Search through the Indiana State Police Bureau of Identification is $15 per record for subscribers or $16.32 for a one-time request. The fee for a mail-in request is $7.
Current records of felonies and Class A misdemeanors are available online or by mail. Questions about historical records should be addressed to the Bureau of Identification.
