About This Office:
The Criminal Identification Division (CID) is part of Nebraska State Patrol. CID is located in the Nebraska State Patrol Investigative Services Center in Lincoln. CID is the central repository of Nebraska criminal records and associated fingerprints.
Criminal Records At This Office:
A request for criminal records form must be filled out and a $15 fee remitted for each search. Requests can be made in person at CID or by mail. If mailing the form and the request is for your own personal criminal records, you might need your form notarized. All criminal records requests are for name-based searches only and are only as reliable as the supplied identifying information.
Access To Nebraska Criminal Records:
CID is responsible for satisfying all Nebraska criminal records requests. The general public may request criminal records in the form of Record or Arrest and Prosecution (RAP) sheets on third parties, which detail arrests and corresponding dispositions, including convictions, null pros and acquittals. Law enforcement and authorized agencies may access an individual’s complete criminal history.

Ten correctional facilities are overseen by the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (DCS), plus all parole and probation offices are maintained by DCS as well. DCS also offers several inmate programs for improvement including education, skills training, parenting program, religious programs and a dog training program.

Users may access Nebraska inmate lookup by going online to DCS and using their Inmate Information Locator system. Users may search records using last name or DCS identification number. First name is optional to narrow results if DCS number is unknown.

A photo will be included if available for each inmate record plus the date of birth, gender, race, age and full name plus aliases.
