Criminal History Reporting
The Oklahoma Open Records Act ensures that the public has access to Oklahoma criminal records while still protecting individual privacy. Also, approved employers may require a criminal records check, but only law enforcement and other criminal justice entities may access complete criminal records. Oklahoma criminal records will include all arrest and conviction information for misdemeanors and felonies, provided they’re supported by fingerprints.

Access to Oklahoma Court Records
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) maintains a repository of criminal records and disseminates these records to the public. Members of the public, employers, and authorized agencies may request records by completing the state’s Criminal History Request Form. This form may be completed online, then printed. The completed form can be faxed, mailed, or hand-delivered to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation’s office in Oklahoma City. Requests may include a sex offender and violent offender search as well as a general criminal history search.
The OSBI fee for a name-based search is $15. A fee of $2 must be added for a sex offender search or a violent offender search. The fee for a fingerprint-based search is $19.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation provides access to an individual’s criminal records for as long as the individual is alive. Questions regarding historical criminal records may be addressed to the OSBI.
