Where To Access Criminal Records In Oregon
About This Office:
The Oregon State Police oversee the Identification Services Section, which operates the Computerized Criminal History (CCH) unit. CCH maintains all criminal records for the state including fingerprint-supported arrests for felonies and misdemeanor sex and drug offenses.
Criminal Records At This Office:
Complete criminal records are available only with a fingerprint search. Individuals should visit their local police station or the CCH office in Salem. The cost at CCH for fingerprints is $20 per card. The criminal records search costs an additional $33. This packet should be mailed or delivered in person to CCH. Individuals performing a name-based search on a third party should complete the request form and submit $10 per name.
Access To Oregon Criminal Records:
Oregon criminal records are available to the public in a limited format. Individuals requesting their personal criminal record can access complete criminal records. Limited Oregon criminal records include all arrests that resulted in convictions. When requesting criminal records on another person for employment, the subject must be notified. If not and a criminal record is located, the subject will be notified by CCH.

The Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC) oversees the state’s 14 prisons, but also connects with prison volunteers, inmates’ families and the public through social media, including a presence on Twitter and Facebook. Inmates of Oregon prisons have access to education, substance abuse and psychological treatment, and work experience for a smooth transition back into society.

Users may perform an Oregon inmate lookup search through ODOC’s online offender search system by entering the offender’s ID number or searching by any combination of last, middle and first names.
Access To Oregon Inmate Records:
Oregon inmate lookup is facilitated by ODOC and allows the public to view certain inmate records that are open to public viewing. These records include a photo of the offender, full name and aliases, age, date of birth, gender, race, height, weight, eye and hair color, and also include location of correctional facility, status, admission and projected release dates, sentencing and conviction information.

The Oregon State Police Public Records Unit is responsible for answering requests from individuals for criminal history records. This unit is overseen by the Identification Services Section, which maintains the state’s repository for all criminal records, fingerprints and firearms database. The Identification Services Section processes hundreds of arrest and fingerprint files daily.
Background Checks At This Office:
Oregon background checks can be requested by anyone on any individual, although these are name-based searches and only return open records. These include arrests that resulted in convictions, as well as any arrests within one year that are still pending. Individuals may request their own complete criminal record with submission of fingerprints.
Access To Oregon Background Records:
Oregon criminal background checks can be requested online, by mail or in person. Name-based open record requests must include the full name, date of birth and any aliases, along with a completed request form and fee. Individuals requesting personal criminal records must include a fingerprint card with their request form and fee.
