Retrieving Records

The Hawaii Department of Public Safety offers access to incarceration records through the nationwide VINElink network. Hawaii’s branch of VINElink is called the Hawaii SAVIN (Statewide Victim Information and Notification) Service. Members of the public may locate inmates by searching for them by Offender ID, first name, last name, date of birth, or age range. Users may access the SAVIN Service online 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The service provides information about an offender’s location, custody status, and projected date of release.

There is no charge to members of the general public for using the SAVIN Service to locate inmates of the Hawaii Department of Public Safety.

Years Available

The Hawaii SAVIN Service includes incarceration information for inmates who are currently in custody and may include information on inmates who are no longer in custody. Information is updated regularly, but timeliness and accuracy are not guaranteed.
