Access to Maryland Court Records
The Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) offers information to the general public about the housing location of inmates committed to its custody. Incarceration records for offenders housed in DPSCS correctional facilities are available online through the department’s Inmate Locator. However, the department’s database does not provide information about every offender in its custody. Citizens may search for inmates by first and last name. Victims and their family members may register for victim notification services by contacting the DPSCS Office of Victim Services.
Access to incarceration records through the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services is free of charge. Victim notification services through the DPSCS are also free of charge.
The DPSCS offers access to information about currently incarcerated inmates; however, the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of this information is not guaranteed.
