Records Available:

MDOC allows the public to access certain inmate records for those incarcerated or on parole or probation through MDOC. Inmate records include sentence information, convictions, tentative release date, status, correctional facility location and transfers. Also available with each inmate record is a photo and physical description, including height, weight, hair and eye color, build, complexion, race, and gender, along with date of birth and the offender’s unique ID number.

Retrieving Records

The Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) Records Department is responsible for maintaining information about inmates within the system. Incarceration records for active inmates are available through the MDOC’s online Inmate Search database. Anyone may retrieve records through Inmate Search by entering the offender’s last name and first name. Any citizen may search for parolees within the MDOC system through the Mississippi Parole Board’s website. The MDOC Records Department can provide additional information about active or inactive inmates in Mississippi.


Any citizen may search the Mississippi Department of Corrections Inmate Search or Parolee Search databases free of charge. These services are provided to promote public safety.

Years Available

The Mississippi Department of Corrections Inmate Search and Parolee Search databases include information about offenders currently under the jurisdiction of the MDOC. Records of inactive offenders may be requested from the MDOC Records Department.
