Nevada Court Administrator
Supreme Court of Nevada
Administrative Office of the Courts
The Nevada Administrative Office of the Courts keeps records for the Nevada Supreme Court but not for any of the lower courts. Opinions and rulings are available for Supreme Court cases, which include all appeals, since Nevada has no intermediate appeals court. Below the Supreme Court, the district, justice, and municipal courts handle all cases. District courts operate at county level, while the justice and municipal courts serve townships and cities for civil and criminal cases.
Nevada Court Record Availability
Except for certain online research capabilities, all court record access must be done at the local level. The state does not have a unified court system database.
Access to Nevada Court Records
The only court records available from the Nevada Administrative Office of the Courts are for the Supreme Court, which handles all appeals. The primary way to obtain these is the print publication Nevada Reports, available at the Supreme Court Library. A small number of unpublished opinions are available online. The AOC provides links to lower court websites, which maintain their own records and may have information available online—such as Clark County, which provides an online case records search.
Supreme Court opinions and records can be obtained free of charge from the Nevada AOC. Information obtained from lower courts may or may not carry a charge.
All Supreme Court records are available in print and a small number of recent records are available online. Dates for records available from the lower courts will vary.
